Frequently asked questions
Answers to some of the questions we’re asked most often about our cleaning process and of wedding dress care in general. If you have a question that we haven’t answered below, then please get in touch.
When will my dress be collected?
After your order is placed, we’ll get in touch within 2 working days to schedule a convenient collection time for your dress.
Why is it important to get my wedding dress cleaned?
Even if your dress looks clean, it’s still essential to have it professionally cleaned. Subtle, invisible marks — such as those caused by drink spills — can gradually darken and become noticeable over time. In addition, untreated stains can set deeply into the fabric, making them difficult or even impossible to remove later. Your wedding dress is an investment and cleaning it as soon as possible ensures it’s thoroughly sanitised and preserved, ready to be stored and cherished for years to come.
Why should I use a storage box?
Our elegant handmade boxes are crafted from specially milled, pH-neutral board — free from both acid and alkali. Everyday materials like wood, standard cardboard, and fabric dyes often contain acids that, when in contact with your wedding dress, can lead to yellowing or discolouration over time. Unlike plastic covers, which can trap moisture and damage delicate fabrics in the long run, our Wedding Dress Boxes allow the fabric to breathe, helping to preserve its beauty and condition for years to come.
My wedding dress care label mentions the "Baptiste process" can you still be clean it?
Yes, we have successfully cleaned thousands of dresses with this care label. While we don’t use the ‘Baptiste’ process — which is simply a registered trademark name another cleaner uses to describe their method — we take a more bespoke approach. As specialist wedding dress cleaners, we carefully design a tailored cleaning process based on the unique fabric composition and design of your gown, ensuring the safest and most effective results rather than limiting ourselves to a single method.
My wedding dress care label says "Spot clean only" can you still clean it?
Yes. As specialist wedding dress cleaners, we use a range of advanced cleaning methods. We carefully assess each gown and design a cleaning process tailored to its specific fabric, construction, and condition — ensuring the most effective and safest results possible.
Will my wedding dress be insured?
Yes. In the very unlikely event that a claim arises, we will refer the matter directly to our insurers, who will handle it in accordance with standard industry practices and guidelines.
Can you guarantee to remove all marks and stains from my wedding dress?
We’d love to say yes, but unfortunately, the answer is no — and we advise caution with any company that claims otherwise. Wedding dresses are often made from delicate fabrics that can be easily damaged, discoloured, or weakened by aggressive stain removal treatments. What we can guarantee is that we’ll use our expertise and the most appropriate cleaning techniques to achieve the best possible result — and in the vast majority of cases, that means a beautifully cleaned, stain-free gown.
How long does the service take?
Our standard service typically takes between 3–6 weeks from the time you place your order to the delivery of your dress. However, if you need it sooner, we also offer an express service with a turnaround time of just 4 days. Please contact us for more details.
When do I pay for the service?
Once your order is confirmed with a £75 deposit, the remaining balance will be due when your dress is ready for delivery.
My wedding dress is damaged, do you offer a repair service?
Yes. We have an experienced seamstress who can assess any necessary repair work and provide you with a detailed quote before proceeding.
